Note: Participants may bring their own laptops for
optional use in the classroom.
Ruth Hoyt has been teaching wildlife
photography for more than 20 years and has led
tours and workshops for
various companies and agencies including Kodak and the
National Parks system. Her work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute, Missouri Botanical Garden, Powder Valley Nature Center, and the St. Louis Artists' Guild
to name a few. She also has permanent displays in Illinois and Texas.
Ruth's work has been published by National Geographic, the Nature
Conservancy, Birder's World, Texas Monthly, and many others. She has also
founded and led several nature photography organizations, including Texas
Nature & Environmental Photographers (TexNEP).
Ruth travels extensively for photography, but her base of operations is
in South Texas where she leads workshops and tours and teaches nature
photography in classes and privately. She has been a key advocate for
private lands nature photography and is a highly sought after teacher.
